What is confirmation statement?

A confirmation statement (CS01) is a snapshot of general information about a company’s directors, secretary (where one has been appointed), registered office address, shareholders, share capital, and people with significant control.

Your Confirmation Statement is a legal document which provides Companies House with a snapshot of your company, including the following details:

  • Name of the company
  •  A person with significant control (PSC)
  • The registered number and registered office address
  • Principle business activities
  • Details of company secretary
  • Type of company: private or public
  • Details of company directors
  •  Details of Shareholders
  •  Details of Share Capital

If you do not file your Confirmation Statement on or before the due date, you can be fined up to £5,000 and your company may be struck off (Dissolve).

The due date is usually 12 months after the incorporation of your company or the date you filed your last annual return, and then it should be filed at least once a year.

The annual fee for a confirmation statement filed electronically is £13. The annual fee for a confirmation statement filed on paper is £40.

Being your professional accountant, we can file a Confirmation Statement on your behalf for a fixed fee of £50 plus vat. It does include the company’s house filing fee of £13. If you would like us to file a Confirmation Statement on your behalf, we will make sure the return is filed before the deadline date to avoid any penalties.
